Rack and Pinion
There are two different designs used on the vehicle; both are interchangeable. However one unit produced by SMI utilizes a hollow rack gear that can be bent in a low-impact front end collision. This will cause binding in the steering system. Refer to instruction sheet 655630. Note: Cores with bent rack gears cannot be salvaged.
